Time is a non-renewable resource

As I sit down to write, actually type, out these daily thoughts I am reminded of how precious time truly is.

I remember sitting in geography class when I was 15 years old and learn about the differences better non-renewable and renewable resources. You may think it rather strange to think of time as non-renewable, because after all the clock starts a new every 24 hours.

To better understand this, think of time with a fixed construct, we only have 24 hours in a day. We can do various hacks to “give ourselves more time” but we don’t yet have the ability to time travel or slow time down. So, how we spend our time within each day is important.

In this fast paced, digital and virtual world we live in it can be easy to be dragged into things that we shouldn’t be spending time on. Next time this happens to you, ask yourself if you can afford to spend some of the 86400 seconds that you have available in the day doing this task.

Switching the way we look at time can make us appreciate our use of it far more, rather than just seeing it as numbers on the screen of our mobile phone or the analogue watch hands on our watches.

Time is arguably the most valuable resource we will ever have.
