A year of exploration, evaluation, evolution, and exchange — thank you from me to you

Twenty twenty two.

A year that I feel is best described by these four words — exploration, evaluation, evolution, and exchange.

As the calendar year draws to a close, I pause to reflect on the year that has been and to thank the people who have influenced the paths that I have taken over the last 12 months.

I thank you for the opportunities, learnings, and exchanges that we have had this year.

It has been a remarkable to meet many of the people that I have collaborated digitally with over the last two years in person. As well as having the opportunity to meet, work with and learn from plenty of new faces, minds, and characters. It has also been special to connect in different ways through digital mediums and explore how we can deepen the value of trust in partnerships.

Over the last three years, much has changed but many things have stayed the same. One of these for me is the importance of people in the decisions that I take.

Words from Yung Pueblo in his post about lessons from 2022 to bring into 2023 accurately describe this value that I hold — “hang out with revitalising people”.

Deeply appreciative of the diversity, inspiration, and challenges that you provide to me on my journey.

There are many adversities on the horizon in various locations around the global. That said, there are also lots of opportunities, with a rising demand for doing things differently. In the words of Marshall Goldsmith “What Got You Here Won’t Get You There”. I have always held the view that cynics do not build the future.

And so as we enter the festive season and conclude the calendar year of twenty twenty two, I’ll leave you with four thoughts.

the attraction of randomness

the value of serendipity

the opportunity of abundance

the generosity of kindness

A massive thank you for me to you for all you have enabled for me this year.

My best to you and yours.
